3D TEXT
Open a new file .
Now select the type tool.
Type the text you want to make 3D.
Now create outline of that text . For this press CTRL + SHIFT + O
This will convert the text into object.
Ungroup the object .
Select an object .Now go to Effects --> 3d --> Extrude and Bevel .
A dialogue box will appear . Position the object into the desired direction and click ok .
Do the same with another object.
Now you will see that your text is converted into 3d .
Then go to Object --> Expand appearance .
Then go to Object --> Ungroup .

Now with Selection tool fill color (Windows -- > Swatches) in each part. Here I have filled it with Gradient.
Try filling different color in each part . After filling color in each object it will look something like this .
Now select both object and go to Object -- > Group
Your 3D text is created now .
You can can use this in creating logos and other things.
